Step Forward to math

The process of observing or recording a measurement under a given set of conditions is a trial or experiment. Outcomes of an experiment are called events. conditional probability calculator. The probability of an A, denoted by P ( A ) is the chance A will happen. Let us discuss what is conditional probability in this article.

Definition of Conditional Probability in Statistics

A set of conditions C the definition of the probability of an event. If no restrictions other than the conditions C are applied when calculating the probability P ( A ), then this probability is called unconditional.
But, in many cases, one has to arrive to the probability of an event under the condition that another event B whose probability is greater than Zero has already occurred.
" The probability of an even A , given that an event B has occured, is called the conditional probability of A given B and denoted by the symbol P ( A / B )."

Formula for Conditional Probability in Statistics

If the probability of an event B is greater than Zero then the conditional probability of an event A, given that the event B has occurred, is calculated by the formula and Ratio examples
P ( A / B ) = P(AB)/P(B)
where AB is the event that both A and B occur.
Similarly, If P ( A ) > 0, the conditional probability of an even B, given that the event A has occurred, is defined by the formula
P ( B / A ) = P(AB)/P(A)
